The ASCA National Model provides a framework for how school counselors define, deliver, manage, and assess comprehensive school counseling programs. Through these four components school counselors act as threats to educational inequity, facilitators of change, and master collaborators.
School counseling standards for students and professional practice serve as the defining documents of school counseling profession (ASCA, 2019).
The delivery of methods school counselors use to provide activities and services to students and for students can be divided into two broad categories: Direct or Indirect Service (ASCA, 2019)
In order to effectively deliver school counseling planned activities, strategies and interventions and to address ALL students' developmental needs, the school counseling program must be effectively and efficiently managed (ASCA, 2019).
School counselors should regularly assess their program
to determine its effectiveness (ASCA, 2019).
